Coop or Comp?
Digital Battlegrounds has a single purpose: get everyone gaming by building and fostering an active community that loves videogames. The goal is set but there are many ways to get there. We thought a lot about what would be the best way forward and now, after three months of welcoming gamers to play, we have a proposition.
Between PvP or LFG, comp or casual, we should do both. We are going ahead with a PvP/Comp plan for games that already have an active tournament calendar like Call of Duty, Fortnite and Mortal Komba. For games that are very popular but have a more cooperative/fun appeal-like NBA2K, TFT, LoL and DOTA 2 we will focus on LFG/Casual events.
We understand that all the games just mentioned are focused on competition and gamers play them to win. Please consider that approach is related to the focus of our events for each game, not particularly on how the games are played, as being comp or coop is entirely a state of mind and an attitude in itself and not a rule on how specific games should be played.
This means we will keep organizing tournaments for Fortnite and Call of Duty. We will also schedule events related to LoL, Overwatch, APEX, and TFT but when we do the later we will focus on introducing players to one another, fostering coop play and having fun together.
Do you think this is a good approach? We would love to hear from you to keep adjusting our events to your liking.
